All Natural Skin Tightener & Body Gloss

I’d like to share with you one of my favorite DIY skin care treatments. It’s a great replacement for chemical laden body “glosses” and synthetic oils. I use it often and love the visible results I get. I hope you come to appreciate it as much as I do. On to the components of said concoction…

Ingredients & Directions:

One bottle of Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Quarter kilo of whole or ground Sea Costus {Qust al Bahri}

One teaspoon of freshly ground Turmeric {Karkum}

One teaspoon of Henna

One tablespoonful of ground Sidr Leaves

One tablespoonful of whole or ground Black Seed {Habbatus Sawdah aka Habbatul Barakah/Nigella Sativa}

One teaspoon of dried Rosemary Leaves {Ikleel Jabal}

One quarter kilo of whole or ground Frankincense

Quarter kilo of whole or crushed Myhhr

One teaspoon of Warss {Ceylon Cornel}

Quarter kilo of whole or ground ‘Oud al Hindi {Indian Aloes Wood)

One teaspoon of Halbah (aka Hulbah/Helbah – Fenugreek) whole or crushed

One teaspoon of Bee pollen

One teaspoon of Bee Propolis

Mix contents in a mason jar with Olive Oil (powders and seeds first, barks – should you use them – last). Leave for 24 hours.

This mixture can be used heavily before showering if you want that glossy, dewy look. Be sure to apply the resin at the bottom of the jar, not just the oil.

For a light treatment, use the oil only.

Apply in upward circular motions where needed. Allow it to sit for 15 minutes if you plan to shower or bathe afterwards.

While rinsing in the shower, use a bath mitten or loofah with mild herbal soap to help remove all traces of the oil. Be sure to remove it in upward circular motions. This helps with blood circulation which in turns promotes a natural glow (among other wonderful things).

You can also use it as a hot oil treatment to help strengthen the memory and purify the scalp. Use it in the same way you would any other hot oil treatment. *Don’t use the resin in this case, just the oil.

Use it to treat ashy heels and calloused balls of the feet. It works wonders! Apply the oil to clean wet or dry feet. Cover with socks (use Saran Wrap or plastic bags to protect your socks). You can sleep this way if you choose to, or remove it after 15 minutes with warm water.

This regimen will help soften and smooth out wrinkles – yes wrinkles and tighten up skin stretched out during pregnancy or as a result of weight loss. Be patient. Give it time to work and it will, In Shaa Allaah.

Not featured in photos: Bee Pollen, Bee Propolis, Olive Oil, Frankincense and Henna. I’ll photograph and add them to the article later on. I’ll also blog specific benefits each item in the comment section, In Shaa Allaah.
