“Old Town” Revitalization Project

Overlooking the Balad (also known as "Old Jeddah") from the Rooftop of the Naseef House once Home to King 'Abdul 'Azeez Aalu Saud.

Jeddah traces its origins back 2,500 years when it established itself as a fishing village. Some 500 historical buildings were lost due to neglect.  In order to preserve the old structures, the Historical Area Preservation Department was established in 1990 hoping to promote cultural tourism in the country. The Jeddah Urban Development Company was also  formed to restore the Balad.

“The city of Jeddah will change with this project and will be up to par with leading cities of the developed world.” – Prince Khaalid al Faisal
