  1. Sorry Joy. I don’t have that info. Try calling one of the numbers above and ask to be transferred to the enjaz branch, or maybe they can simply give you the correct tele#.

    I hope this helps.

  2. Ameera, I don’t know which branch is nearest to the one in Faisaliyyah. I’m not familiar with that district. Call one of the agencies listed above, In Shaa Allaah they’ll direct you.

  3. I sent money to Indonesia using my Sri Lanka friend named Muhamed Ibrahim. I do not have any Samba account at the moment as I do not have Iqama yet (only 2weeks in KSA). unfortunately the money is bloked with the reason “waiting document from sender”. I have checked w/ the bank that Ibrahim needs to fax a copy of his passport to USA and we did it, but still the money is blocked with the same reason.
Please advice. I have spent a lot of money to go to the bank for many times to solve this matter.
    Thank you.

  4. Info from Western Union…

Sending from Saudi Arabia: Non-Saudi Arabian citizens must present a Passport or Residency Card (iqamah). In Saudi American Bank-Speedcash locations, Non-Saudi Arabian citizens must present a Residency Card and a copy of a valid Passport stamped/attested by their sponsor for sending or receiving Money Transfers.

Your receipt should have a MTCN (Money Transfer Control Number). It allows you to track the status of your money transfer online. Click here…

  6. Opening an account with Bank Al Bilad:

    Age requirement: 18 and up.
Accounts for customers younger than 18 must be opened and controlled by a custodian.
The minimum amount for opening an account is SR 1,000 for individuals and SR 100,000 for enterprises.

  8. Can u help me find the nearest Western Union in Makkah, jeddah, or United doctors hospital in jeddah, saudi arabia, i want to send saudi riyals to my wife there, but she is not so familiar with the place. please help me.

  9. Western Union/Enjaz Bank al Bilad is on King ‘Abdul ‘Aziz St. – Corniche. This is the closest one to the United Doctors Hospital (I believe). (966)(1) 4798319

As for Ashrafiyyah, I’m sorry, no info. I don’t work for Western Union. Desert Diaries is just an FYI blog on life in Jeddah.

  10. Tip of the Day: To avoid waiting in long lines to send or receive cash, open a Western Union account on-line (you must have a bank account).

Even if you have yet to make hijrah, open an account in case an emergency arise after you get here. This will keep you from running around a strange city looking for W.U, it’ll keep tired, irritable people from jumping your line and it’ll save you from having to stand waiting for 3 or 4 hours.

  11. I am a monthly remitter at enjaz money transfer mostly located in Sari street Jeddah ksa. A year ago of my contribution which i have observe and so many of us is the scope your service technique which is very hard for the customer like me to fall in line in a long time because the counter is slow.

    Suggestion:
    1. If possible can you give the numbering system to the remitter which is called or you have a numbering screen to follow.

    2. Will you put chair to the customer’s waiting area or infront of your counter while waiting customers number.

    3. Make your system or scope of work as fast as you can

    Best regards.

  12. Tammy, I agree with you 100%, however, Desert Diaries has no connection whatsoever with Western Union. This is just an FYI blog focusing on migration to Saudi Arabia and related topics. Please pass your suggestions on at a WU branch near you.

I personally suggest for you all to open on-line accounts so that you can process everything from the comforts of your home.

    Haneefah

  13. As far as I know, only money can be sent/received via Western Union.

Look into companies like; FedEx, AraMex, UPS, DHL, and Saudi Post to send and receive items In Shaa Allaah.
