As salaamu ‘alaikum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh. It would be nice to cook meals using the Prophet’s (sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) favorite foods. They are even a few dishes he preferred that are mentioned in various ahaadeeth. Have your children help with what they can and In Shaa Allaah it’ll be something tasty and fun for the family!
Aboo Moosaa (radhiyallaahu ‘anhu) said: Allaah’s Prophet (sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) said, “Many amongst men reached (the level of) perfection but none amongst the women reached this level except Aasia, Pharaoh’s wife, and Mary, the daughter of ‘Imraan. And no doubt, the superiority of ‘Aaishah to other women is like the superiority of Tharid (dish of meat and bread) to other meals.”

Anas bin Malik (radhiyallaahu ‘anhu) reported that a tailor invited Allaah’s Messenger (sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) to a meal which he had prepared. Anas said, “I went along with Allaah’s Messenger (sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) to that feast. He presented to him (sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) barley bread and soup containing pumpkin, and sliced pieces of meat. Anas said, I saw Allaah’s Messenger going after the pumpkin round the dish, so I have always liked the pumpkin since that day.”

These are just examples, there’s tons of other foods mentioned. Search through Ibn al Qayyim al Jawziyyah’s book “Medicine of the Prophet” for some ideas. Be creative In Shaa Allaah and you’ll have a different healthy meal each night.
