Hijrah Q/A

Posted in FYI, Hijrah Related Articles tagged at 1:13 am by Desert Diaries

As salaamu ‘alaikum…………

10. Question: A sister asks about making Hijrah alone.

Answer: If her presence in that land is a fitnah (trial) for her and she is afraid for her Deen i.e. she is afraid from turning away from her Deen. Then if she is able to travel with some virtuous women who have their mahaarim with them then I pray that there is no problem in doing so. Allaah تعالى will make it easy for her according to her intention.

18. Question: A sister’s ex-husband does not pray and never prayed in their entire married life. She has two daughters with him and he forbids them to pray and instead teaches them bad manners like celebrating the birthdays. She is now re-married and would like to make hijrah but is not yet able to do so. What is best for her and her husband to do? Should she fight for her daughters until she has custody?

Answer: If this woman and her husband are able to practice their religion and show (manifest) the religion then maybe in their staying she will be able to free her two daughters from this bad man, in this case staying would be better for them. However, if the opposite is feared i.e. she fears fitnah for herself and her husband in staying, then it is better for them to make hijrah and Allaah تعالى will take care of her two daughters Inshaa Allaahu تعالى.

As salaamu ‘alaikum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh. Shaykh ‘Abdullaah Al Ghudayaan (hafithahullaah) was asked: If a female would like to make hijra, does she need a mahram?

A: No, if a female would like to make hijra she does not need a mahram. This is the only time it is permissible for a female to travel without a mahram.

If a person leaves his country with intentions to protect his Deen

الحمد لله رب العالمين وصلى الله وسلم على نبينا محمد وعلى آله وأصحابه ومن اهتدى بهديه إلى يوم الدين أما بعد
السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

Q: If a person leaves his country with intentions to protect his Deen and he goes to the land of the Muslims then later he decides to change his intentions to  that of hijrah, must he return to his home country and then make the new intention?
A: It’s a fact that he was trying to save and protect his Deen, so he has already made hijrah. There is no need for him to return to his country of origin.

My Hijrah Story - Gathering My Thoughts

It’s been nearly a year since my family and I have made Hijrah, Maa Shaa Allaah Laa Quwwata illaa Billaah. I often find myself at a loss for words when asked to describe life here in the Kingdom. I still marvel at my surroundings wondering what in the world have I done to deserve such a blessing. Allaahu Aa’lam, Allaah gives to whom He wills.

From the time the thought of making Hijrah entered my mind and settled upon my heart, up until the day it actually happened, I’d say it took nearly 8 years to become a reality. There’s a lot that I want to say but I can’t express myself right now.

If you’d like to make Hijrah check out Hijrah Net and Muhaajir E-Group. You can ask questions about your country of interest. Please research the ins and outs of Hijrah and get as much info as possible about employers and make lots of du’aa.  May Allaah facilitate an easy way out for you.

Hijrah - Actions are by Intentions

As salaamu ‘alaikum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh.

Actions are by Intentions

On the authority of ‘Umar bin Al-Khattaab (radhiyallaahu ‘anhu), who said: I heared the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) say: “Actions are but by intention and every man shall have but that which he intended. Thus he whose migration was for Allah and His messenger, his migration was for Allah and His messenger, and he whose migration was to achieve some worldly benefit or to take some woman in marriage, his migration was for that for which he migrated.” Related by Bukhaaree and Muslim

Explanation of the Hadeeth “Hijrah Erases the Sins Committed Before It” by Shaykh Sulaymaan Ar Ruhaylee

Rulings Pertaining to Hijrah

Shaykh Sulaymaan ar-Ruhaylee

http://www.almizaanpubs.com/article_6.html

Explaining the hadeeth “And hijrah erases (the sins committed) before it,” the Shaykh says: Hijrah is to migrate from the land of shirk to the land of Islaam and its rulings vary.

[THE OBLIGATORY HIJRAH]

If a person residing in the land of kufr doesn’t have the ability to practice his religion and has the ability to migrate to Muslim countries (then hijrah is obligatory upon him). Hence, there are two stipulations:

(1) He’s unable to practice his religion in the land of kufr - so he’s not able to pray, fast, or carry out the obligations of his religion;

(2) He has the ability to migrate to the land of the Muslims. Ability (to migrate) may pertain to the individual or it may relate to an external matter. It may pertain to the individual in the sense that he’s physically capable of making the migration. It could also relate to an external matter in the sense that he finds an Islaamic country to seek refuge in.

If these two conditions are present, hijrah is obligatory upon him and he must migrate to the land of the Muslims. However, if he doesn’t have the ability to practice his religion but is also incapable of migrating, he is then lawfully pardoned and it is upon him to fear Allaah to the best of his ability.

[THE DESIRABLE HIJRAH]

If one has the ability to practice his religion in the land of the disbelievers, and he’s capable of making hijrah then it is desirable (mustahaab) for him to do so even though it is not obligatory.

[WHEN IS IT RECOMMENDED NOT TO MAKE HIJRAH?]

If one has the ability to practice his religion in the land of the disbelievers, and is capable of making hijrah, however his presence in those lands is beneficial to the Muslims by way of teaching them beneficial knowledge and teaching them the Sunnah then it is mustahaab for him to stay and not to make hijrah.

Thus hijrah is a great, noble action which erases [the sins] that preceded it.
