Anas bin Maalik (may Allaah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger (Sallallaahu Álaihi a sallam ) said, “Indeed the best of remedies you have is cupping…” Saheeh al-Bukhaaree #5371
More on the photo…
The patient had hijaamah (cupping/bloodletting) performed on his back which was populated with wet pimples full of pus and mucous. He was cupped on five points (only four are shown in the photo). A soon as the drainage commenced, the pimples reduced in size, like they were punctured with a needle. All of the embossed papules shrunk and flattened.
Patient was also given a blend of Senna, Sweet Flog (a strong blood purifier), Henna, Smilax China (Chobchini), Shahtra (Fumaria Officinalis), Rose Petals, Neel Kanthi (Chrozophora Plicata).
‘Abdullaah bin ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger (Sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam ) said, “Healing is in three things: in the incision of the cupper, in drinking honey, and in cauterizing with fire, but I forbid my Ummah (nation) from cauterization (branding with fire).” [Saheeh al-Bukhaaree (5681), Saheeh Sunan ibn Maajah (3491)].
Jaabir bin ‘Abdillaah (may Allaah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger (Sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) said, “Indeed in cupping there is a cure.” [Saheeh Muslim (5706)]
*Quick note: A man’s back is not his ‘awrah. His ‘awrah is from his navel to his knees.
